Bateaux London

Bateaux London is the capital’s leading dining cruise experience on the River Thames, with stunning boats which provide public and private charter restaurant and sightseeing cruises. Reckless have migrated Bateaux to Drupal 8 and are constantly driving higher levels of traffic and conversion.

The What

Bateaux London and Sodexo Sports & Leisure were looking for a partner to overhaul their wider digital ecosystem. This project is the first in a series of projects which will completely transform the way Sodexo engage with their customers online.

The Why

The old website did little to convey the quality of the Bateaux London dining experience. Analytics and key metrics also revealed a number of pain points which were costing Bateaux in terms of both revenue and customer engagement. There was a very strong business case for investing in the new website and a range of marketing activities. It was clear that there was an opportunity to significantly uplift conversions and average order values. The old CMS hindered the marketing team’s ability to connect with their customers. Site structure and booking systems hindered user experience and it was time to take action.

The How

Through the creation of a new responsive website, Reckless set about creating a seamless experience across a range of devices, meaning no compromise to design, functionality or quality; a core brand value.

By migrating to Drupal 8, the marketing team now has complete control over how they want to engage and sell to their customers. The new site allows customers to enjoy a more personalised experience as users can shape their online experience.

Through the creation of a new booking system with live availability and an excellent cross-selling platform, Reckless aimed to vastly increase both conversions and average order values.

In support of the launch of the new site, Reckless delivered a series of supporting digital marketing campaigns primarily focused around SEO, PPC and content marketing.

The Results

Within 10 days of launch Bateaux London enjoyed a 400% increase in the number of mobile transactions, a 219% increase in the e-commerce conversion rate and a 60% increase in the number of users interacting with the site all on mobile devices.

The new Bateaux site allows us to engage and connect with our customers like never before. The Sodexo Group have been so impressed that Reckless have also been appointed to lead on a series of projects including the design and build of a new site for the Prestige Venues & Events arm of the group.
